The Parish of the Nativity of the Lord

Parish Pathways

Parish Pathways was formed in 2007 and its aim is to bring pastoral and sacramental care to the sick and housebound, including those in residential care, across the Roman Catholic Churches of Redhill, Reigate and Merstham.
As a team we co-ordinate this work across the three churches of our parish in a spirit of collaborative ministry with our priests and other parish groups.
We regularly take communion to over 60 parishioners who are no longer able to attend church.
We also organise an annual Mass with Anointing of the Sick which is followed by a social gathering and refreshments.
At Christmas and Easter we remember sick and housebound parishioners with greeting cards that carry a personal message from the parish clergy.

A Pastoral Support Group for parishioners with mental health problems, called the Bernadette Group, takes place once a month. Please contact Margaret McGettrick on 07900 917483.

If you or someone you know is unwell or housebound and would like to receive communion, please contact Nicki Murrill on 07753 661791.
To arrange communion for patients in hospital, please contact the Parish Office on 01737 761017

Thought for the week

In the second reading of this Sunday, St John writes of the Christian vocation: “Loved by the Father, called to be God’s children living lives that will take us to see Him”. John invites us to think about the wonder of this calling, this journey, to think about the love that God bestows upon us. It is our life’s work to grow in our understanding and true appreciation of the depth and wonder of this gift. It is from this baptismal calling – for this journey begins there – that our very lives flow. This is the starting point for vocation, for discipleship
