St Bede’s School, Redhill was formed in 1976 as an amalgamation of Bishop Simpson (CofE) School and St Joseph’s (RC) School. We benefit from the support of the Arundel and Brighton Catholic Diocese and the Southwark Anglican Diocese. In 1992, the local free churches became partners of the school giving us our unique ecumenical nature.

The ethos of St Bede’s is a shared Christian faith which values and celebrates our unique identity. We celebrate and explore the different Christian traditions that make up our school as well as gain a better understanding of our own denomination.

We are proud to serve roughly 2000 students of all abilities, age 11-18, from the Reigate, Redhill, Caterham, Horley and surrounding areas. We want every child to thrive as we seek to promote five key values: Belonging, Education, Determination, Excellence and Service (BEDES)

St Bede’s aims to provide ‘Christian education at its best‘. We offer a broad and balanced curriculum that is accessible and ambitious for all students including those from disadvantaged backgrounds and those with special educational needs.

About Us

In May 2009 the Parish of the Nativity of the Lord was officially inaugurated by Bishop Kieran Conry, bringing together in a single united community worshippers from the former Parishes of St Joseph’s in Redhill, Holy Family in Reigate and St Teresa of the Child Jesus in Merstham. Whilst retaining its three Churches, the new Parish is administered as a single Parish under the care of Fr Tony Bridson.  Working with Fr Tony are Deacon Tim Murrill and key groups of lay representatives from the three Churches.

Thought for the week

Jesus asks you to discover Him in the members of society who are poor, despised, and abandoned. What a beautiful encounter that can be!
