The Parish of the Nativity of the Lord

Parish Prayer Intentions and Petitions

Prayers of Intercession

5th Sunday of Easter (Year B)

28th April 2024

For Pope Francis. That in his mission to be faithful to Christ, the Gospel, and the church, he will have the support of bishops and priests and all God’s people.

Lord in your mercy.     R. Hear our prayer.

For the faithful the world over, that we may never be separated from Christ, the true vine, and in bearing much fruit, become true disciples.

Lord in your mercy.     R. Hear our prayer.

For the leaders of the world, particularly those in areas of war, famine, disease, and disunity. That they seek solutions for peace and prosperity, with love and compassion as the most important elements of their approach.

Lord in your mercy.     R. Hear our prayer.

We pray for the people of Sudan, as they face conflict and hunger during this time of crisis: that through God’s grace and our actions they may know peace and receive the practical support that they need.

Lord in your mercy.     R. Hear our prayer.

For the sick, frail and distressed, may they encounter kindness and helpfulness in those they meet professionally and casually.

Lord in your mercy.     R. Hear our prayer.

For those who have died recently including Jim Naylor, Carmel Peaston and Bill Ward and for those whose anniversaries occur at this time, may the Lord grant them eternal rest.

Lord in your mercy.     R. Hear our prayer.

About Us

In May 2009 the Parish of the Nativity of the Lord was officially inaugurated by Bishop Kieran Conry, bringing together in a single united community worshippers from the former Parishes of St Joseph’s in Redhill, Holy Family in Reigate and St Teresa of the Child Jesus in Merstham. Whilst retaining its three Churches, the new Parish is administered as a single Parish under the care of Fr Tony Bridson.  Working with Fr Tony are Deacon Tim Murrill and key groups of lay representatives from the three Churches.

Thought for the week

Jesus is very clear about the call to His disciples to bear fruit, something that is simply impossible unless we remain close to Him, part of the vine.
